History

Independent Pattern Shop is a long-standing pattern shop serving Erie, PA, and the surrounding region. The company was established in 1959 by Ronald Strohmeyer Sr. and Norman Grode Jr. In June 2021, David Church, a close family friend of Ronald Strohmeyer Jr., assumed ownership of the business. Since taking over, David has prioritized growth and advancement, leading to expansion into Syracuse, NY, and Pittsburgh, PA. Additionally, he has invested in a CNC machine to enhance the efficiency of producing more intricate patterns.

Today, Independent Pattern Shop remains one of the leading pattern shops in the region.  Providing both highly precise products using state of the art equipment, as well as, affordable hand built products by skilled craftsmen, they are capable of providing a solution for any foundry's situation.
